So..Ever work so hard on a piece..you find you have nothing to say about it? This little watercolor is a present for my mother, who loves pandas and Raccoons (she had a rescued one as a pet when she was little), so, the animal somewhere between in appearance. I'm very pleased with how it came out, I'm still very new to watercolors, this being only my fifth completed piece. I also used a watercolor block for the first time on this, SO USEFUL. Anyways, since I am so new, to watercolor painting and wildlife painting, any advice and imput would be greatly appreciated.
Medium: Holbein Watercolor on cold press cotton WC paper
Palette: Paynes Grey, Burnt sienna, cadmium red purple, yellow grey, sepia, perm yellow light, cobalt blue hue, sap green, mineral violet, grey of greys
Also, any tips on scanning watercolors would be appreciated, I'm going to be rescanning this on a better machine but am still having trouble getting the scans right.
This is absolutely wonderful. You especially did such a good job with the textures of the colors in the fur. As far as scanning goes, just make sure you have something heavy enough to keep any wrinkles in the watercolor paper pressed against the scanner so that you don't get random dark spots in the scan. Otherwise the color correction is more up to some quick Photoshop work.
